Smoked Trop-otle Margarita


Smoked Chipotle Simple Syrup
½ Can chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
3 C water
1 C sugar
1 Tbsp hickory smoking chips

2 oz. tequila or mezcal
1 oz. mango nectar
½ oz. smoked chipotle simple syrup
½ oz. fresh lime juice
4 oz. TropiCoastal Tropical IPA

Smoked Chipotle Simple Syrup
In a pot over medium-high heat, add chipotle peppers and water. Reduce until about 1 cup of liquid is left. Strain out debris and mix sugar into liquid. Place liquid beneath an upside-down bowl. Using a smoking gun, pull smoke from hickory chips for 3 minutes and allow the smoke to be trapped within the bowl. Allow the liquid to rest in smoke for 10 minutes. 

Smoked Trop-otle Margarita
Chill a coupe glass. Combine all ingredients except TropiCoastal Tropical IPA into a cocktail shaker, fill with ice, and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Top the cocktail shaker with TropiCoastal. Strain and pour into the coupe glass.
