GLBC's Guide to the Guardians Games

The bang of the drum. The roar of the crowd. The crack of the can! Baseball season has finally begun, and soon we’ll be underway at the corner of Carnegie on Ontario. As the Official Craft Beer of the Cleveland Guardians, we couldn’t be more excited to get to the ballpark to root for the home team with a few fresh pours of Great Lakes beer! So where can you get your mitt on our beer, you ask? We’ve put together this handy guide so you’ll never miss a first pitch while you’re seeking out your favorite brew.

Pro tip: enter the ballpark via the Left Field Gate. It’s the shortest walk to the Great Lakes Brewing Co. Beer Garden, near Section 164, and adjacent to the Guardians Team Shop. There’s no better ritual to kick off your game day experience than sipping a freshly poured beer in the beautiful sunshine with your fellow baseball (and craft beer) loving fans. The Beer Garden features 16 oz. cans of Rally Drum Premium Lager, our light and refreshing American Lager that we like to think of as the ultimate utility player. And if those eight GLBC taps pouring 12- and 24 oz. drafts of GLBC beers caught your eye, try sliding into paradise with TropiCoastal Tropical IPA, or crush it out of the park with Crushworthy Lo-Cal Citrus Wheat. You can’t help but hit for the cycle with our all-star roster of beers.

After you’ve taken in that glorious first pitch of the season and caught a couple innings with crooked numbers (for the good guys, of course!) it’ll be time for a fresh beer. Stretch your legs and take a walk to the GLBC Neighborhood Stand near Section 107, where you’ll be able to sate your thirst with additional hometown brews. While Crushworthy and TropiCoastal are true Rookies of the Year, wily veterans like Dortmunder Gold Lager are playing (and tasting) better than ever. Plus, these two GLBC bars are your best place to find platoon players like Lemon Hefeweizen, along with our other seasonals throughout the season.

In fact, pretty much anywhere you are at the stadium, from the club seats to the nosebleeds, a fresh GLBC brew isn’t far away. Hanging out at the Corner Bar before the game? Warm up for rooting on the home team with a hometown draft or can. If you’re taking in the action from the Upper Deck, there’s no need to trot downstairs. You’ll find a GLBC Draft Stand right behind home plate in Section 550. Cleanup hitter for the visitors up at the plate? Stop by Sections 150 and 162, grab a few 16 oz. cans of Hazecraft IPA, and say “haze, batter batter!” You’ll be sure to see a swing and a miss (while sipping on a moonshot home run!)

Of course, the Guardians gameday experience wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the GLBC brewpub. Visit our iconic Ohio City brewpub before or after the game to enjoy baseball-themed food specials, like a Dortmunder Gold Corndog and Chorizo Nachos, as well as plenty of beer specials. In fact, the brewpub is offering specials and swag and ticket giveaways for home and away Guardians games all season long. Make a reservation here. Traveling from out of town? It’s cool, we’re pretty friendly here in The Land. We’d love to take your visit into extra innings with a pre- or post-game brewery tour. Register here

Brewed for the home team, Great Lakes Brewing Co. is proud to be the Official Craft Beer of the Cleveland Guardians. Use our Beer Finder to track down 16 oz. Can 6-Packs of Rally Drum Premium Lager and the rest of our hometown lineup of beers at a retailer near you.
